Instrument-Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization, or IASTM. The Therapist uses a stainless-steel tool designed to move across the skin with a specific technique to facilitate tissue healing and decrease pain by increasing local circulation and remodeling scar tissue. This technique treats:

• Muscles
• Fascia, connective tissue that surrounds and separates muscles
• Ligaments, tissue that connects bones to other bones
• Tendons, tissue that connects muscles to bones
